Boundaries on the Move–A Cross-Cultural Dialogue at Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art
Chen Chieh-Jen
The exhibition Boundaries on the Move: A Cross-Cultural Dialogue deals with various boundaries that seem fixed and permanent but are in actual fact ever-changing. The exhibition presents the works of 16 Taiwanese artists from the years 1980-2012, alongside those of three contemporary artists from Israel, all conducting a mutual discourse. The participating artists examine the boundaries in motion in our everyday lives, as well as the social, political and economic boundaries relevant to key issues of current life in Taiwan and Israel. They deal with the complex themes of personal identity, territorial borders, society, economics, and immigration in an age of advanced technology and globalization.
Participating artists: Chang Chien-Chi, Chen Chieh-Jen, Chen Ching-Yao, Hou Chun-Ming, Hsieh Ying-Chun, Huang Chih-Yang, Huang Hai-Hsin, Peng Hung-Chih, Su Yu-Hsien, Tsai Charwei, Tsui Kuang-Yu, Tu Pei-Shih, Chu Chun-Teng, Wang Ya-Hui, Wu Chi-Tsung, Yao Jui-Chung, Nira Pereg, Miki Kratsman and Michal Shamir.
