Rona Yefman

Rona Yefman (b. Haifa, Israel) is currently based in New York. She received an MFA from Columbia University in 2009 and a BFA from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in 1999. Her 2011/12 solo shows have been at Sommer Gallery (Tel Aviv), Derek Eller Gallery (New York), The Sculpture Center (Long Island City, NY) and Participant, Inc. (New York). Her work has also been exhibited at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, MoCA Cleveland (OH), Ronald Feldman Fine Art (New York), Lombard–Fried Projects, Art Focus#5 (Jerusalem), Museum Marco (Vigo, Spain), Annie Wharton Los Angeles (2012), Kunsthalle Wien, Austria (2012); and the La Mep Museum, Paris (2012). Yefman's work has been featured in Art Forum (2012 and 2009), Art in America (2012), Modern Painters (2011, 2012), The New York Times (2011, 2010, 2008), The New York Times Magazine (2008, 2007), and Frieze (2009). She is the recipient of the Ingeborg Bachmann Scholarship established by Anselm Kiefer, the Gerard Levy Prize from the Israel Museum, Grants from The New Israeli Foundation for Cinema & T.v (2004, 2010), the Lotos Club Award and the 2009 Rema Hort Mann Scholarship, Artis and Smack Mellon in 2010, and the New Creation Wward and the Young Artist Prize from the Ministry of Education & Culture in Israel (2007, 2003). Yefman is represented by Sommer Contemporary Art.
